Theologians use the phrase “the Bible is reading us” to express the idea that Scripture does more than inform; it exposes motives, shapes identity, and “observes” the reader, somewhat like an observer in quantum physics affects what is measured. In quantum theory, the observer effect describes how measurement influences a system’s state, which people compare to how engaging with biblical texts can collapse a person’s vague possibilities into concrete choices, character, and faith.
