Da: Julen nærmede sig, og Niels og Mette var ude på en lidt kold eventyr i København.
En: Christmas was approaching, and Niels and Mette were on a slightly chilly adventure in København.
Da: De stod foran Den Lille Havfrue, der sad ensom på sin sten ved Langelinie, med havet bølgende bag sig i den klare vinterluft.
En: They stood in front of the Den Lille Havfrue, who sat alone on her rock by Langelinie, with the sea rolling behind her in the clear winter air.
Da: Et let lag sne dækkede både havfruen og jorden omkring dem.
En: A light layer of snow covered both the mermaid and the ground around them.
Da: Niels, iført en gigantisk nissehue, prøvede at holde telefonen i den perfekte vinkel.
En: Niels, wearing an enormous Santa hat, was trying to hold the phone at the perfect angle.

En: She was used to taking pictures as a photographer, but Niels insisted on getting the perfect selfie himself.
Da: Omkring dem summede andre turister.
En: Around them, other tourists buzzed about.
Da: Alle havde travlt med at fange øjeblikket af den berømte statue.
En: Everyone was busy capturing the moment of the famous statue.
Da: Niels blev hurtigt distraheret, da nogen gik lige ind foran hans billede.

En: But Niels shook his head.
Da: "Det her er vores julekort, jeg vil gøre det rigtigt."
En: "This is our Christmas card, I want to do it right."
Da: Han tog et skridt tilbage for at få mere af statuen med.
En: He took a step back to get more of the statue in.
Da: Det næste øjeblik skred hans fod på den glatte sne, og kameraet faldt lige ned i en hvid dynge.
En: The next moment, his foot slipped on the slippery snow, and the camera fell right into a white pile.
Da: Mette kiggede overrasket, og dernæst brød hun ud i en varm latter.
En: Mette looked surprised, and then burst into warm laughter.
Da: "Det er okay, vi kan tørre det af," sagde hun, stadig grinende.
En: "It's okay, we can wipe it off," she said, still laughing.
Da: Niels rejste sig fra sneen, lidt flov men også befriet af øjeblikkets skønhed.
En: Niels got up from the snow, a bit embarrassed but also relieved by the beauty of the moment.
Da: Efter de havde tørret kameraet nogenlunde af, stillede de sig igen foran havfruen.
En: After they had wiped the camera off as much as possible, they stood again in front of the mermaid.
Da: Niels, nu også smittet af Mettes latter, k
