S2 Ep28 - Hit the SPOTLight with Behold the Beauty

Season 2 Episode 28 Published 6 months, 1 week ago
Description
On this episode of ‘Hit the SPOTlight,’  we are swooning over our guest Behold the Beauty, whose name has layers and yes, we get into all of them. From Tarot decks to spreadsheets, damaged vocal cords to glory holes, ‘B’ brings us into her wild, grounded, and deeply thoughtful world. Talking with her felt like sitting down for a drink with someone who just gets it… easy, open, and kind of magical.

She shares how she went from the corporate world to a curious listener and then to a voice actor, how COVID changed her relationship with her voice, and why vocal care is more intense than most people realize (and wait until you hear what she uses to soothe her throat).  We talk about imposter syndrome, collaborations, and how she finds freedom in being “too much.” Her process is unlike anyone else’s, and her approach to scripting (or not scripting) is just as intriguing as her content range. Spoiler alert: some things are better when you don’t plan them.

We learn about her mic, her love of Tarot, her boundary-setting, and her reclaiming of language that was once off-limits (let’s just say that Smudge is very happy).  Some listener questions revolve around task management, and so she gives us a peek at her organization system, how she releases over twenty audios a month, and why pomodoro rounds are her not-so-secret weapon. ‘B’ is the card you will be glad you pulled after listening to her in the QuinnCast studio!
