An Indiana mom named Mercedes Wells, who was discharged from Franciscan Health Crown Point hospital while in active labor, gave birth in her husband's truck just eight minutes later on the side of a road. Following the incident, the hospital has apologized and fired the doctor and nurse involved. Wells has since spoken to various media outlets about the traumatic experience.
