Xchange Chicago opened a 28,000 square foot technology business hub in Grand Crossing to train South Side residents for tech careers through apprenticeship programs. The initiative, supported by the Comer Science and Education Foundation, P33, SDI Presence, and local stakeholders, aims to address gaps in IT services and economic development. The hub provides hands-on training in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, with participants moving into roles at SDI Presence. SDI Presence committed to a ten-year lease, and corporate partners are redirecting IT outsourcing spend to local talent. Over 50 residents have already benefited, and the hub is expected to drive workforce and commercial growth while retaining investment in Chicago.
