Back in 1919, Boston got hit by a crazy disaster when a huge storage tank filled with molasses blew up, causing a sticky wave to flood the streets. This wave was 25 feet high and moved at 35 mph, smashing buildings and trapping people. It was like a real-life horror movie, with molasses everywhere, making rescue efforts super hard. The disaster ended up killing 21 people and injuring 150 others. Even years later, people said they could still smell the molasses on hot days!
