Jake Owens receives divine assistance with new record, finds meaning in music | Music City Minute

Description
American author, (and let’s be real, the great grandpappy of the Outlaw Country writing style) Mark Twain, famously said, "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; truth isn’t." A shining real world example of that quote can be found in the creation of Jake Owens' latest project "Dreams to Dreams." Owens explains he was feeling very lost after severing ties with his record label. The Florida native leaned into the music of his country music heroes like Hank Williams Junior and Waylon Jennings, hoping to gain direction when opportunity knocked. An eight-word reply to a Shooter Jennings social media post led to an hours-long phone call, and eventually an invite to Jennings’ studio in Los Angeles. The "Meant for You" singer, admitting he felt his life was on fire, only to fly to a literal burning city and have his music produced by a country legend's son, is positively poetic! Jake Owens' "Dreams to Dreams" will be released on November 7.
