Notes:
I. Christ’s work that brought us salvation.
A. Christ was to die on the cross to provide redeem us from our
sins.
Matthew 20:28 — " just as the Son of Man did not come to be
served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.””

B. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples.
Matthew 28:5–6 — "5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. 6 “He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.”
II. The Ascension of Christ into Heaven.
A. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God.
Acts 1:9 — "9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.”

B. He is the One Mediator between God and man.
1 Timothy 2:4–5 — "4 who desires all men to be saved and to
come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and
one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,”
1. That means that he is interceding for us - Romans 8:34
2. He prays for our faith that it will not fail - Luke 22:32 — Just
He did for Peter.
C. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever-present
Lord.
Romans 8:9–11 — "9 …. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of
Christ, he does not belong to Him ... 11 But if the Spirit of Him
who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised
Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal
bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
1. He said to us, “behold, I am with you always even to the end of
the age.”
2. It is impossible for the believer to ever be truly alone.
III. Christ’s return to Earth in power and glory.
Mark 13:26–27 — "26 “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in
clouds with great power and glory. 27 “And then He will send forth
the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds,
from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.”
A. Christ will return in power and glory to judge the world and to up his church.
1. He promised come for us - John 14:3 — "3 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” 2. He promised to judge the wicked - 2 Thessalonians 1:7–8 — "7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, 8 dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.”
