A panel of judges on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a 2023 ruling from a Houston federal judge that had blocked enforcement of the law indefinitely; and a joint committee of Dallas City Council members voted unanimously Thursday to shelve a proposal that would have reimbursed the city for allowing police officers to help enforce federal immigration laws.
