Sl: Mateja je stala na robu propadle Ljubjane.
En: Mateja stood on the edge of a fallen Ljubjana.

Sl: Jesenski veter ji je mršil lase.
En: The autumn wind tousled her hair.

Sl: Listje je bilo povsod, rdeče in rumeno, pokrivalo je opustele ulice.
En: Leaves were everywhere, red and yellow, covering the desolate streets.

Sl: Pred njo razpadli zidovi, ki so nekoč bili lepi domovi in trgovine, zdaj tihi spomeniki preteklosti.
En: Before her were crumbling walls that were once beautiful homes and stores, now silent monuments of the past.

Sl: Ta kraj je bil nekoč živahen, zdaj pa je bil le senca svojega nekdanjega sijaja.
En: This place was once vibrant, but now it was just a shadow of its former glory.

Sl: Tukaj je nazadnje videla svojega brata, Tomaža.
En: It was here that she last saw her brother, Tomaž.

Sl: Mateja se je spomnila njunega zadnjega prepira.
En: Mateja remembered their last argument.

Sl: Ko so besede padale, ni mislila, da ga bo izgubila.

En: A small rustle of leaves sounded beneath her feet.

Sl: Prignala se je do stranskega vhoda.
En: She darted to the side entrance.

Sl: Tu je morala biti hitra.
En: Here, she had to be quick.

Sl: Vstopila je v temno zgradbo.
En: She entered the dark building.

Sl: Notranjost je bila mračna in tiha, kot bi bila pozab
