MBS: Civil Society and Faith Leaders Advance Home-Grown Peace Initiative

Episode 3137

A few months ago, a group of South Sudanese civil society activists, faith leaders, and community influencers came together to launch a home-grown peace initiative — a locally led effort designed to complement national peace processes and revive dialogue among communities.

Unlike externally driven approaches, this initiative draws from South Sudan’s own traditions of reconciliation, dialogue, and community mediation, putting citizens at the heart of peacebuilding.

So, where does this initiative stand today? What progress has been made, and what lies ahead on the road to peace?

Joining us to unpack these questions is Lorna Merekaje, civil society activist and member of the South Sudan Home-Grown Peace Initiative.
