بعد غربة دامت خمسة عشر عامًا يعود (كريم) كي يدفن أمه لكنه يجد سؤالًا صادمًا في استقباله:
“كيف كنت في الخليج وفي نفس الوقت في القاهرة؟”
كي يجيب على هذا السؤال يقضي (كريم) أيام زيارته القصيرة في مربع “جنينة المحروقي” الذي نشأ فيه والذي لا يتميز في ظاهره بشئ عن سائر الأحياء.
لكنه يكتشف أنه يسابق الزمن.
فلم يكن هذا هو أخطر الأسرار التي تحيط بـ”جنينة المحروقي”، هناك أيضًا مهلة محددة لحل هذا اللغز.
