En: Leaves whisper on the ground, tuned to all shades of red and gold.

Sk: Je All Saints' Day a márne sa slnko pokúša prehriať zamrznuté konáre.

En: The morning is cold, so Marek hopes to warm up quickly while voting.

Sk: Nervozita mu však chladí prsty viac než novembrový vietor.
En: However, the nervousness chills his fingers more than the November wind.

En: He feels uncertain, his heart like a stone, mainly due to worries that he has inherited his father's illness.

Sk: Vnútri je útulne.
En: Inside, it is cozy.

En: The center is decorated with chestnuts, candles, and maple leaves, prepared by volunteers in memory of the deceased.

Sk: Voliči prúdia dnu, všetci zabalení vo farebných šáloch a teplých kabátoch.
En: Voters stream inside, all wrapped in colorful scarves and warm coats.

Sk: Marek si všimne svoju sestru Zuzanu.
En: Marek notices his sister Zuzana.

En: "Marek, have you voted yet?" Zuzana asks him as she approaches.

Sk: Marek len potichu pokrúti hlavou.
En: Marek just silently shakes his head.

Sk: Zuzana vidí nesúhlas v jeho tvári.
En: Zuzana sees the disagreement on his face.

Sk: "Veď vieš, že ti všetko padne hladko," povzbudí ho a jemne ho dotkne ramena.
En: "You know everything will go smoothly for you," she encourages him and gently touches his shoulder.

Sk: Zatiaľ čo čaká, Marek zrazu pocíti závrať.
En: While waiting, Marek suddenly feels dizzy.

En: Restlessly, he leans against the wall, gasping for breath.

Sk: Oči mu prebleskujú k dverám, kde stojí Brigita, pracujúca ako dobrovoľníčka.
En: His eyes flicker to the door, where Brigita stands working as a volunteer.

En: He remembers that they recently reconnected, and she proved to be a diligent and caring friend.

Sk: Jeho srdce prudko bije, ale strach ho paralyzuje.
En: His heart beats rapidly, but fear paralyzes him.

Sk: "Marek, si v poriadku?" pristúpi k nemu Brigita, keď si všimne jeho bledú tvár.
En: "Marek, are you okay?" Brigita approaches him when she notices his pale face.

En: Marek hesitates, but then words burst out of him: "I feel like I'm suffocating, Brigita... I'm not sure if it's just stress... or if something more serious is happening to me."
