Southeastern 16 previews Vanderbilt’s trip to Texas for a game with College Football Playoff implications. The game will be shown at 11 Central on ABC and FanDuel favors Texas by 2 1/2. Topics in our preview include:

• Arch Manning had perhaps his best game as a collegiate in an overtime win at Mississippi State. However, Manning suffered an injury and didn’t play in overtime. Will he play and if so, how effective can he be?

• Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia has had underwhelming stat lines vs. Alabama and Missouri. However, Pavia is capable of delivering game-changing plays, and delivered the game-winner against Missouri.

• Texas’s defense has given up significant yardage in SEC games, however, some of that has been due to a high snap count for the defense.

• The Commodores couldn’t keep their offense on the field enough against Missouri, but, won the game anyway thanks to a defense that made many timely plays.

• Watch out for special teams. Vanderbilt has an elite kicker in Brock Taylor and the Longhorns have a game-changing punt returner in Ryan Niblett.
