HEADLINE: Driver identified, arrested for DUI in deadly chain-reaction crash on 10 Freeway in Ontario by Rob McMillan and Tim Pulliam 

  • The driver was identified as 21-year-old Indian national Jashanpreet Singh, who reportedly entered the U.S. illegally in 2022.
  • The violent crash, which left three people dead and at least four others injured.
  • The driver of the Freightliner tractor-trailer combination that slammed into the SUV was identified as 21-year-old Jashanpreet Singh, who was living in Yuba City in Northern California.
  • He was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and vehicular manslaughter.

  • 41 million Americans are currently receiving SNAP benefits. 
  • In fiscal year 2024, an average of 41.7 million people, or 12.3% of the U.S. population, received SNAP benefits. Participation varies by state, with the share of residents on SNAP ranging from a low of 4.8% in Utah to a high of 21.2% in New Mexico.  
  • In fiscal year 2024, 10.6% of South Carolina’s population received SNAP benefits, which is the 30th highest percentage among states. This equates to an average of about 581,600 people per month. 
  • About 4.8 million Californians in 2.6 million households receive CalFresh Food benefits now, and there’s nearly 2 million more Californians who are eligible but haven’t yet signed up.
  • This is unsustainable fellow Americans.
