  • Just in time for Christmas, Zoom (the audio equipment manufacturer) is to launch the Zoom PodTrak P4next, a portable XLR multitrack recorder with “AI noise reduction”, compression and tone shaping. Here’s a demo video. It’s marked as “coming soon” on B&H for $179.99. We’ve not had a press release for it, but it appears to have been announced yesterday.
  • Already got a nice recorder, but want your studio to be less echoey? GIK Acoustics have released a new set of acoustic treatment panels for studios, including bass traps and corner traps. The panels have new patterns and a choice of material colours.

    • Don’t need acoustic panels? Don’t want a recorder? Still keen on spending some money somehow? Consider becoming a Podnews supporter and paying for everyone to access Podnews.
  • In the UK, Global ran its first-ever Audio & Entertainment Upfronts, highlighting the arrival of Global Studios, the launch of a new sports entertainment division, and a new podcast from Emily Maitlis.
