Texans will be REQUIRED to present a digital ID to access the internet if Republicans in Texas get their way. Even more concerning is that the Trump Administration is moving in the same direction with Senator Mike Lee presenting similar federal legislation.

We MUST resist this effort.

Under the guise of ‘protecting children from harmful apps” Republicans across the country are proposing legislation which would require biometric identification from parents to authorize their children’s use of certain app.

Even more disturbing is language within state and federal bills which authorizes ‘third party vendors’ to access and control the collection and potential distribution of very valuable, private information on every parent across the country.

This is concerning because these initiatives will eventually empower the government and third party partners to collect, analyze and weaponize every American’s private data.

This is a clear and direct violation of 4th Amendment protections and we must mobilize to oppose.
