Holy living is not an attempt to become good enough for God. It is our response to the salvation He has given us through Jesus Christ. As we leave behind our former desires, live with reverent awe of God, and grow through His Word, the Holy Spirit shapes us to become more like Jesus.

IN THIS MESSAGE

#1 LEAVE BEHIND YOUR OLD DESIRES

Because we belong to Christ, we are no longer defined by the sinful desires that once controlled us. God calls us to prepare our minds for action, place our hope in His grace, and pursue holiness as His obedient children. (1 Peter 1:13-16; Leviticus 19:2)

#2 LIVE WITH REVERENT AWE OF GOD

Our salvation was not purchased with temporary things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Remembering the price Christ paid motivates us to honor God with our bodies, choices, priorities, and relationships. (1 Peter 1:17-21; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:10)

#3 GROW THROUGH GOD’S WORD

Spiritual maturity does not happen by accident. Peter calls believers to put away destructive attitudes and crave God’s Word like newborn babies crave milk. As we study and apply Scripture, God strengthens us to reject sin and grow in our salvation. (1 Peter 2:1-3; Psalm 119:103; Matthew 4:4)

Holiness is not about achieving sinless perfection through our own effort. It is about faithfully following Jesus, depending on His grace, and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us one step at a time. God’s grace does not leave us where it found us.
