Cryptids: Tiger Snake
Season 4
Episode 79
Published 1 year ago
Description
In the mist-laced wilds of Tasmania, whispers coil through the underbrush—of a creature part serpent, part thylacine, all mystery. This episode slithers into the tangled lore of the Tiger Snake cryptid, a folkloric hybrid said to haunt the island’s shadowed corners. We trace its origins through colonial accounts, Aboriginal storytelling, and ecological speculation, asking: is this cryptid a symbol of extinction anxiety, a misunderstood species, or something more mythic?
Music is by Alexander Nakarada.
