Joseph Z leads us to the Book of 1 John 2:27 to enlighten us about the real anointing and how it teaches us all things while informing us that an anointing can also be counterfeit. The anointing of God is a marking, or God’s seal of approval, on our lives, but a counterfeit anointing, according to the Book of James 3:15, is earthly, sensual, and demonic.

Next, Joseph explains the ideology of strange fire, which is an attempt to sustain an anointing that has long waned or been taken away by mimicking the characteristics of the real one. It is also known as institutionalism; whatever an institution can not control, it kills or persecutes. Again, he references the Book of Leviticus 6:12 and Leviticus 10:1 to enlighten us more about strange fire or a false anointing. 

Joseph further cites the Book of Acts 8:18 to highlight the characteristics of a false anointing, and how it seeks after its gain and not to glorify God. We’re also made to understand that the intent of our heart is the catalyst for a false anointing. He then concludes with a prayer, assuring us that God is with us and will neither leave nor forsake us.
