Ga: Bhí fáilte roimh na nduilleoga órga a bhí ag céimniú síos go mall.
En: The golden leaves were welcomed as they descended slowly.

Ga: Sa mhaidin fhionnuar fhómhair seo, chuaigh sí go dtí an margadh áitiúil, a bhí ar bun ar chúlra na n-aillte maorga.
En: On this cool autumn morning, she went to the local market, which was set against the backdrop of the majestic cliffs.

Ga: Bhí an margadh lán le dathanna agus aromas.

Ga: Ach, leis an oiread sin roghanna, bhí mearbhall uirthi.
En: But, with so many options, she was confused.

Ga: Go tobann, bheartaigh sí dul i mbun cainte le Cormac, díoltóir cúthail ach cliste.

En: said Cormac politely as Ailis made her way to his stall.

Ga: "Tá bronntanas faoi leith á lorg agam," arsa Ailis, súil ina súile.
En: "I am looking for a particular gift," said Ailis, hope in her eyes.

Ga: "Tá mo chara craiceáilte faoin seanchas.
En: "My friend is crazy about folklore."

Ga: "Thosaigh Cormac ag insint faoi pháipéad ársa a raibh scéal iontach leis.
En: Cormac began to talk about an ancient paper with an amazing story.

Ga: "Tá an t-ornáid seo ceangailte le scéal faoi ghrá agus brón a tharla anseo ar na hAillte," a mhínigh sé.
En: "This ornament is linked with a story of love and sorrow that occurred here at the Cliffs," he explained.

Ga: Cé go raibh an ghaoth ag séideadh go fíochmhar, d'éist Ailis go fonnmhar leis an scéal faoi tiomantas fir do mhuirnín a chaill sé fén gcladach fíochmhar thíos.
En: Even though the wind was blowing fiercely, Ailis listened eagerly to the story about a man's devotion to a beloved he lost to the fierce shore below.

Ga: Bhí an phéindant, dar leis, bheannaíocht air, á athdhéanamh as an seanórnáid.
