- Lower Street has launched a video podcast production service. The founder and CEO Harry Morton announced the company’s approach in a video - filmed sitting in a field with three cows, seemingly in the pursuit of a metaphor about yoghurt. The company’s philosophy is that a video podcast shouldn’t just be a repurposed audio recording; we suspect it’s also learnt that Shure SM7Bs should ideally be kept away from Aberdeen Angus dairy cattle. You can watch the a-moo-sing video over here.
- The winners of the UK’s Independent Podcast Awards were announced. Podcast of the year went to kids show Shelly & The Can-Do Kids. Our list of the winners reveals that Acast hosts almost half of them.
- YouTube’s Steve McLendon spoke at SXSW Sydney today, highlighting two features that he suggests are great for podcasters - collaborations, which are good to work with other creators; and episode title A/B testing. (Fun-fact: you can actually test three titles, but we guess A/B/C testing sounds weird).
