Story Transcript:
Sk: Vo vzduchu voňala jeseň, a na psychiatrickom oddelení sa všetko zdalo byť tichým a pokojným, aj keď vonku fúkal chladný vietor, rozfúkavajúc oranžové a červené listy.
En: The scent of fall permeated the air, and in the psychiatric department, everything seemed quiet and peaceful, even though a chilly wind blew outside, scattering orange and red leaves.
Sk: Vnútri nemocnice sa Ladislav cítil, akoby prechádzal iným svetom.
En: Inside the hospital, Ladislav felt like he was walking through a different world.
Sk: Bola tam vôňa dezinfekcie a jemný, tlmený šum rozhovorov zdravotného personálu.
En: There was the smell of disinfectant and a gentle, muted murmur of conversations from the medical staff.
Sk: Pocity úzkosti mu pribúdali v hrudi, no stále kráčal ďalej.
En: Anxiety was building in his chest, yet he continued to walk.
En: In this building was his sister, Jana.
Sk: Pred pár týždňami ju prijali kvôli ťažkej depresii.
En: A few weeks ago, she had been admitted due to severe depression.
Sk: Ladislavom prenikala silná obava.
En: A strong sense of worry penetrated Ladislav.
En: He didn't know how to face her; nor what to say to not worsen her condition.
En: During each visit, he felt something heavy weighing on his shoulders, something that pressed down on him.
Sk: Zastavil sa pred jej izbou.
En: He stopped in front of her room.
En: Marek, their father, was already waiting for him in the room.
En: He was a man who rarely showed emotions, and now he sat on a chair with his hands folded resignedly in his lap.
Sk: „Ahoj, syn môj,“ povedal ticho, keď Ladislav vstúpil.
En: "Hello, my son," he said quietly as Ladislav entered.
Sk: Nevedeli veľmi spolu hovoriť o pocitoch, ale tentoraz im to možno pomôže.
En: They were not very good at talking about feelings, but this time it might help them.
Sk: Jana ležala na posteli a hľadela uprene na strop.
En: Jana lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
Sk: Kútikom oka spozorovala Ladislava a usmiala sa.
En: She noticed Ladislav from the corner of her eye and smiled.
En: However, the sadness was clearly readable in her eyes.
Sk: „Ahoj, Lado,“ oslovila ho jemne, s miernym chvením v hlase.
En: "Hi, Lado," she addressed him gently, with a slight tremor in her voice.
Sk: Ladislav sa pokúsil o úsmev.
En: Ladislav tried to smile.
En: He sat on a chair by her bed.
Sk: „Ako sa cítiš, Jani?“ opýtal sa, snažiac sa o uvoľnený tón.
En: "How are you feeling, Jani?" he asked, trying for a relaxed tone.
En: Deep down, though, he knew it wasn't an easy question to answer.
Sk: Jana si na chvíľu zahryzla do pery.
En: Jana bit her lip for a moment.
Sk: „Je to... lepšie.
En: "It's... better. But har
