Late last night Fianna Fail's candidate for president, Jim Gavin withdrew from the presidential election. It followed reporting in Saturday Irish Independent, that Mr Gavin was overpaid rent to the tune of 3,000euros due to a banking clerical error, which Mr Gavin did not return.
Speaking to Pat this morning was Fionnán Sheahan who broke the story this weekend.
