The Mary Fields Horse & Heritage Museum in Connecticut is now open — the nation’s first museum dedicated to Black equestrian history. Named after “Stagecoach Mary” Fields, the first Black woman to work for the U.S. Postal Service, the museum highlights her fearless legacy and the long-overlooked contributions of Black cowboys and horse culture in America.
