2 Kings 21 – Manasseh and Amon: A Legacy of Wickedness (September 9, 2025)
Published 7 months, 3 weeks ago
Description
In 2 Kings 21, we witness one of the darkest chapters in Judah's history. Manasseh, ruling longer than any king of Judah, plunges the nation into idolatry, child sacrifice, sorcery, and bloodshed. He rebuilds the high places his father Hezekiah tore down and even defiles the temple with idols. His son Amon continues in rebellion, leaving a legacy of sin and corruption that provokes God's wrath and hastens Judah's downfall. This passage warns us of the devastating power of idolatry and generational sin, while pointing us forward to Christ—the true King who cleanses His temple, reigns in righteousness, and brings forgiveness through His blood.
