Nordic Countries should accelerate partnership with African countries by investing in transport, logistics, ICT & energy infrastructure - Minister Lamola.
Published 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Description
Minister Lamola is attending and participating in the 22nd Nordic-Africa Foreign Ministers (NAFM), in Victoria Falls, Republic of Zimbabwe.
The meeting is being held under the theme “Leveraging Technology and Collaboration for Future-Ready Societies.” The programme will include a Business Forum and a Young Innovators Forum.
The engagement between Nordic and African countries was initiated in 2001 and is hosted on a rotational basis between the Nordic and African countries. The last Ministerial Meeting was hosted by Denmark, from 01 to 04 May 2024.
The initiative aims to support closer relations between African and Nordic countries. Nordic countries have a record of providing support for the full operationalisation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and, amongst others, the theme of the 2025 event resonates with the African Union’s intentions to make greater strides in technology to support the development of the continent, especially in the context of the importance of technology to the development of young people on the African continent.
