New York Attorney General Letitia James responded defiantly to her federal indictment in a fiery speech at a campaign rally for New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani on October 13, 2025. The indictment, handed down by a federal grand jury in Virginia, charges James with bank fraud and making false statements related to a mortgage she secured in 2020. James and her supporters have called the charges politically motivated.
