Story Transcript:
Lv: Vērmanes dārzā, Rīgā, rudens bija klātesošs.
En: In Vērmanes dārzs, Rīga, autumn was present.
Lv: Krāsainas lapas lēnām krita no kokiem, klājot zemi ar zeltaini sarkaniem paklājiem.
En: Colorful leaves slowly fell from the trees, covering the ground with golden-red carpets.
En: Oskars sat on a bench, watching the children running along the park paths.
Lv: Viņš turēja balto nūju pie sāniem, atgādinot sev, kā viņam tagad bija jāstaigā, jo kreiso kāju bija grūti kustināt pēc nelaimes gadījuma.
En: He held a white cane by his side, reminding himself how he now had to walk, as his left leg was difficult to move after the accident.
Lv: Maija, viņa draudzene, cītīgi mēģināja uzmundrināt Oskaru.
En: Maija, his friend, tried diligently to cheer up Oskars.
Lv: "Varbūt šodien iesim dziļāk parkā?
En: "Maybe today we'll go deeper into the park?
En: There's a beautiful view of the pond," she said, trying to hide her concerns about Oskars.
Lv: "Varbūt," Oskars atbildēja, joprojām šauboties.
En: "Maybe," Oskars replied, still doubting.
En: It was so hard for him to smile when his heart was full of worries.
Lv: Ārsti bija teikuši, ka nepieciešama operācija.
En: The doctors had said that surgery was necessary.
Lv: Tikai tad viņam būtu iespēja atgūt staigāšanas prieku.
En: Only then would he have the chance to regain the joy of walking.
En: He feared that if the surgery failed, he would be left both physically and emotionally shattered.
Lv: Tajā dienā pie parka pievienojās Igors, Oskara vecs draugs no sportošanas laikiem.
En: That day, Igors, Oskars's old friend from his sports days, joined them at the park.
Lv: Igors, redzot Oskara skumīgās acis, piegāja klāt un sacīja: "Oskar, es vienmēr esmu apbrīnojis tavu spēku.
En: Seeing the sadness in Oskars's eyes, Igors approached and said, "Oskars, I have always admired your strength.
Lv: Tu vari to tagad izmantot, lai mierīgi pieņemtu šo izaicinājumu.
En: You can use it now to calmly accept this challenge."
Lv: "Oskars pakasīja savu galvu, domājot par Igora sacīto.
En: Oskars scratched his head, pondering Igors's words.
Lv: Viņos bija pārāk daudz nezināmo.
En: There were too many unknowns within him.
Lv: Bet, kamēr viņš sēdēja un vēroja, kā cilvēki parkā brīvi kustas, viņa vēlme atkal sajusto neatkarību tikai auga.
En: But, as he sat and watched people in the park moving freely, his desire to feel that independence again only grew.
Lv: Viņš apskurbināja zaudēšanas domu, saprotot, ka viņam jāpamēģina.
En: He intoxicated himself with the thought of loss, realizing that he had to try.
Lv: "Paldies, Igoru," sacīja Oskars.
En: "Thank you, Igors," said Oskars.
Lv: "Man ir jāiet uz šo operāciju.
En: "I have to go through with this surgery.
Lv: Es vēlētos redzēt, kā atkal varu skriet.
En: I want to see how I can run again."
En: A week later, with Maija's and Igors's support, Oskars went t
