A Healing Center for Our Warriors.

Season 3 Episode 83 Published 5 years, 3 months ago
Description

Josh Lannon, Warriors Heart President and Founder and Co-Author of "The Social Capitalist", had a vision to open a healing center for our warriors / protectors so they could heal with the peers only. After getting sober in 2001, Josh and his wife Lisa Lannon opened 6 healing centers to help others "get loved ones back". In 2013, the Lannons joined forces with Former Special Forces Tom Spooner to open Warriors Heart in Bandera, Texas, outside San Antonio (Warriors Heart is the first and only private residential treatment center in the US for "warriors only" – military, veterans and first responders). With a bold vision to bring 1 million warriors home from addiction and PTSD, Warriors Heart is leading the way in chemical dependency treatment for our warriors. Josh is a leading Professor at the AKKI annual international seminars and teaches martial arts worldwide - and Brazilian Jujitsu is part of the Warriors Heart recovery program. Josh's work has been seen in Forbes, The Chicago Tribune, KSAT, KENS 5, FOX 10 Phoenix, ESPN Radio and more. https://www.warriorsheart.com/about-us/staff/#josh-lannon

Important Notes about Warriors Heart Foundation vs Warriors Heart as a reference:

The Warriors Heart Foundation helps subsidize the cost of treatment for Warriors who do not have insurance benefits, including VA benefits. Most funding goes towards treatment services at the Warriors Heart Facility (a separate entity from the foundation), but also covers funding for other verified programs. With the unacceptable averages of 20 veteran suicides per day and 1 law enforcement officer every 62.5 hours in the U.S., the goal is not to turn anyone away for financial reasons.

The Warriors Heart Foundation supports programs that give individuals and communities the tools to rebuild their lives and become self-sufficient. Donations help:

  1. Subsidize funding for chemical dependency and PTSD treatment that includes detox, in-patient residential treatment services, intensive outpatient program (IOP), one-on-one therapy and sober living.
  2. Fund ESA or Service Dogs for warriors that includes trained emotional support animals that provide a specific service to a warrior.
  3. Fund Sober Living housing for warriors who need continued support where there is structure after treatment while going back to school, volunteering and/or receiving outpatient treatment.
  4. Promote behavioral health education for veteran, law enforcement & firefighter resources for what to look for with chemical dependencies and PTSD.

In-kind donations also support warrior healing, which may include donations of wood, building materials, steel, metal and wood shop equipment, volunteer work, products a
