Diary of England’s First Red Rose: Karen Almond 🌹
Description
Zoe Aldcroft has added her name alongside Katy Daley-Mclean & Karen Almonds' as a world title winning captains of England. Only the third woman to lead the Red Roses to victory.
Previously available only on YouTube, listen back to KDM & Karen's conversation about England's win in 1994 & 2014.
Back in 1994, Karen lifted the trophy for the first time, twenty years before Katy would lead England to the same victory. The two trailblazers sit down in this episode of Diary of a Captain, to discuss the challenges, battles & joy that led to those two momentous moments in our sports history.
Without Karen & her teammates, there would be no women’s club or international rugby in this country, so Katy’s also got a lot to thank her for.
GSR's Diary of a Captain, brought to you by @Honda at Westoe Rugby Club, Katy Daley-Mclean’s first ever rugby club.
