Published 3 years, 7 months ago
Description

Let’s get real; In teaching things just keep getting piled on. And it’s not like anyone is saying- “Here, do this and I’ll take that off your plate.” It’s just more and more and more. And more. This is why it’s so important to define and enforce your boundaries. In this episode, Sandy talks all about boundaries, and why they can be so hard to enforce. She gives four things to do to start enforcing boundaries and feeling better about teaching and life.

KEY POINTS

  • You have to define your boundaries before you can enforce them.

  • Why it’s so dang hard to say no.

  • Cheat sheet of things you can say when you want to say no.

  • How to handle boundaries when you’ve been told to do something.

  • It’s okay to make other people uncomfortable.

QUOTEABLES

“We chose a career that’s all about giving and serving our communities and our students and their families. And giving is great. Giving fills your cup, right? But not at the sacrifice of your own sanity and your own mental and physical health.”
