Many of the early revelations to Joseph Smith were "bedrock" doctrines and principles that have been laid out at the beginning of all dispensation. As in Section 27 & 28, Section 29, if you are looking for it, reveals to us the principles of creation, covenant, separation and gathering. It is given in the context of a "gathering", the General Conference.
