I’m not a huge fan of excel and often ask my accountant daughter to create formulas for me! But with Agent Mode, the new feature in Microsoft Excel and Word, I might just be able to master it myself!

It is designed to bring advanced, Agentic AI assistance directly into Microsoft Office apps.

It lets users describe end goals or tasks in natural language, and Copilot’s AI iteratively builds, edits, and refines documents or spreadsheets, moving far beyond single-step command execution to provide multi-step reasoning, automation, and result verification.
