Nl: De herfstzon scheen door de mist en verlichtte de oude muren van de Verboden Stad.
En: The autumn sun shone through the mist, illuminating the ancient walls of the Verboden Stad.
Nl: Bram stond stil bij de majestueuze poorten.
En: Bram stood still at the majestic gates.
Nl: Hij voelde de geschiedenis die door de stenen ademde.
En: He felt the history breathing through the stones.
Nl: "Hier begint ons avontuur," zei hij met een tinteling van opwinding in zijn stem.
En: “This is where our adventure begins,” he said, with a tingle of excitement in his voice.
Nl: Sanne stond naast hem, haar armen over elkaar geslagen.
En: Sanne stood next to him, her arms crossed.
Nl: Ze keek sceptisch naar de enorme muren.
En: She looked skeptically at the enormous walls.
Nl: "En wat verwachten we hier precies te vinden, Bram?" vroeg ze met een lichte spot in haar stem.
En: “And what do we expect to find here exactly, Bram?” she asked with a slight sarcasm in her voice.

En: Maud, the youngest, jumped up and down excitedly.

En: “I love it here! It feels like we’re stepping into an old story,” she laughed.

En: Her enthusiasm was contagious; even Sanne couldn’t suppress a smile.
Nl: Bram had altijd al een zwak gehad voor de oude verhalen over hun familie.

En: He took out an old manuscript he had with him.
Nl: De gele pagina’s waren vol met symbolen die hij hoopte te ontcijferen.
En: The yellow pages were full of symbols he hoped to decipher.
Nl: Er heerste spanning tussen de broers en zussen.
En: There was tension among the siblings.
Nl: "Waarom doe je zoveel moeite voor iets dat je niet eens zeker weet?" vroeg Sanne gefrustreerd.
En: “Why are you going through so much trouble for something you’re not even sure of?” Sanne asked, frustrated.
