Dr Roger Meacock is a UK veterinary surgeon who has worked with farm animals before switching over 20 years ago to working with advanced medical technologies primarily for horses and dogs. He has professionally promoted and fed his own dogs raw meaty bones as the species appropriate diet for a carnivore for over 20 years. He is concerned that many raw diets for our pet carnivores that are gaining popularity are not properly species appropriate but are nonetheless being supported by many vets who claim to support raw feeding. Roger has been carnivore himself since Aug 2023 which has helped him understand the importance of being strict when feeding the proper carnivore diet for our pets. Roger also recognises that farm animals thrive best on their species appropriate diet too and wonders how their high production diets might impact the human diet via meat and dairy produce.
