Description
Off the top of my head, I can think of several country songs that just absolutely wreck me with only the opening notes. Songs like Tim McGraw's "Don’t take the Girl," "Jake" from Pirates of Mississippi or "Broken Window Serenade" from Whiskey Myers. Even though those songs are very emotional, I can at least power through the full tune. However, there is one heart-wrenching song I find too difficult to hear: "Go Rest High on that Mountain" from Vince Gill. The country icon wrote the song for his brother, and it has been a staple at celebrations of life for decades. Interestingly, the composition is about to reach a newer audience when Vince Gill and Lainey Wilson perform the song for the in-memoriam segment during the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. While I am positive the duet is going to be remembered for a long time, unfortunately, I will not be experiencing that segment when it airs on Paramount+ and CBS. Instead, I will be putting my energy towards five minutes of chopping onions or peeling chilies...literally anything but watching.

I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.
