The world can feel uncertain, divided, and increasingly hostile toward biblical faith. In this message from 1 Peter 1, Pastor Chris Teien explains why Christians can live with confident hope during difficult times because our security rests in Jesus Christ and His unchanging promises.

Followers of Jesus have never been promised an easy life, but we have been given a living hope. As we remember who we are in Christ, rejoice in His resurrection, trust God through trials, and continue loving Jesus even when we cannot see Him, we can stand firm regardless of what happens around us.

IN THIS MESSAGE

#1 REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST

Your identity is not determined by your circumstances, culture, accomplishments, or the opinions of others. God has chosen you, made you holy through the work of the Holy Spirit, and called you to live in obedience to Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:1-2)

#2 REJOICE IN YOUR LIVING HOPE

Because Jesus Christ rose from the dead, believers have been given new birth and an eternal inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. Our hope is secure because it rests on Christ’s finished work and God’s protecting power. (1 Peter 1:3-5)

#3 TRUST GOD THROUGH LIFE’S TRIALS

Trials can cause genuine grief, but they do not mean God has abandoned us. He uses difficult seasons to test and strengthen our faith, producing something more valuable than gold and preparing us to praise Christ when He is revealed. (1 Peter 1:6-7)

#4 LOVE AND TRUST JESUS EVEN THOUGH YOU CANNOT SEE HIM

Faith rests on the trustworthy promises of God rather than visible circumstances. Although we cannot see Jesus now, we can love Him, trust Him, and experience the joy that comes from knowing our salvation is secure in Him. (1 Peter 1:8-9)

Do not allow a chaotic world to steal your confidence in Christ. Remember who you are, hold firmly to the living hope of the gospel, and faithfully follow Jesus until the day you see Him face to face.
