Sl: Jesen je.
En: It is autumn.

Sl: Listje se je obarvalo v rdeče in zlato.
En: The leaves have turned red and gold.

Sl: Nad Blejskim jezerom se dvigajo Julijske Alpe.
En: The Julian Alps rise above Blejsko jezero.

Sl: Zrak je svež in vsakdanje misli se stopijo z odmevom valov.
En: The air is fresh, and everyday thoughts melt with the echo of the waves.

Sl: Danes je prav poseben dan za Mateja.
En: Today is a very special day for Matej.

Sl: Matej stoji na obali jezera.
En: Matej stands on the shore of the lake.

Sl: V rokah drži skodelico toplega čaja.
En: In his hands, he holds a cup of warm tea.

Sl: Čuti rahlo napetost v trebuhu.
En: He feels a slight tension in his stomach.

Sl: Danes je dan družinskega srečanja.
En: Today is the day of a family gathering.

Sl: Na tem dogodku ni bil že leta.
En: He hasn't been to this event in years.

Sl: Čas je, da znova najde svoje korenine in začne novo poglavje v svojem življenju.
En: It's time to rediscover his roots and begin a new chapter in his life.

Sl: Katja, njegova sestrična, pride do njega z velikim nasmehom.
En: Katja, his cousin, comes to him with a big smile.

Sl: "Matej, kako si?" ga vpraša.
En: "Matej, how are you?" she asks.

Sl: "Vesel sem, da si tu."
En: "I'm happy you're here."

Sl: Katja je vselej poskrbela za to, da so družinske vezi ostale trdne.
En: Katja has always made sure that family bonds remain strong.

Sl: Mateju se zdi, da je ona pravi lepilo, ki drži skupaj vsak kotiček njihove družine.

Sl: "Lepo te je videti, Katja," odgovori Matej in objame sestrično.
En: "It's nice to see you, Katja," replies Matej, hugging his cousin.

Sl: "Upam, da bo danes prijeten dan za vse."

Sl: Zberejo se ob jezeru, kjer sledi izlet s pletno na Blejski otok.
En: They gather by the lake, preparing for a trip with a pletna to Blejski otok (Bled Island).

Sl: Matej gleda v mirne valove ter razmišlja o svoji družini.
En: Matej looks at the calm waves and thinks about his family.

Sl: Pravzaprav je bil negotov.
En: In fact, he was uncertain.

Sl: Kaj, če ga ne sprejmejo?
En: What if they don't accept him?

Sl: Kaj, če so stari zamori še živi?
En: What if old grudges are still alive?

Sl: Na otoku se Matej odloči pristopiti do svojega strica.
En: On the island, Matej decides to approach his uncle.

Sl: Med njima je dolgo tlela nesporazumna tišina.
En: There has been a long-standing silent misunderstanding between them.

Sl: Prav na tem otoku stopi k njemu in se odloči za iskren pogovor.
En: Right on this island, he steps up to him and decides on an honest conversation.

Sl: "Oprosti," začne Matej.
En: "I'm sorry," begins Matej.

Sl: "Mislim, da je čas, da popraviva stare napake."
En: "I think it's time we fix old mistakes."

Sl: Stric ga pogleda z resnimi očmi. Nato se nasmehne.
En: His uncle looks at him with serious eyes, then smiles.

Sl: "Sem ponosen nate, Matej," reče.
En: "I'm proud of you, Matej," he says.

Sl: "Morda bi se moral prvi oglasiti.
En: "Perhaps I should have reached out first.

Sl: Zadovoljst
