The old foundations, cracked and worn, A structure built on truths outworn. We thought it strong, we felt secure, But held within, the flaws endure.
Then comes the lightning, sharp and bright, A sudden, shocking burst of light. No gentle whisper, slow and deep, Just everything we held, to sweep!
The roof caves in, the walls cascade, The grand illusion, unafraid To tumble down in dust and smoke, A necessary, heavy stroke.
It is the moment of the breakthrough, The painful truth we finally see through. The scales fall off, the blinders cease, We trade false comfort for true peace.
Don't mourn the stones that hit the ground; No solid base was ever found In lies we told or fears we kept. Now, naked truth is all we're left.
And from the ashes, clean and wide, A new beginning waits inside. The slate is wiped, the space is clear, To build a life free from all fear.
