Lt: Obuolių sodas priešpaskutiniam sezono derliui švytėjo visomis rudens spalvomis.
En: The apple orchard shone with all the colors of autumn for the penultimate harvest of the season.
Lt: Oras buvo gaivus, ir užkritę lapai švelniai šnarėjo po batus.
En: The air was crisp, and fallen leaves gently rustled underfoot.
Lt: Eglė stovėjo prie vartų, įdėmiai žvelgdama į sodą, kur jos brolis Gediminas jau rinkosi pirmuosius obuolius.
En: Eglė stood by the gate, intently gazing at the orchard where her brother Gediminas was already picking the first apples.
Lt: Tuo tarpu Milda lėtai ėjo jiems link, net nesistengdama slėpti nuobodulio.
En: Meanwhile, Milda slowly approached them, not even trying to hide her boredom.
Lt: Šią dieną Eglė visuomet laikė svarbia.
En: This day was always important to Eglė.
Lt: Jų šeimos tradicija buvo rinkti obuolius drauge kaip simbolinį susirinkimą.

Lt: Eglė giliai įkvėpė ir priėjo prie Gedimino.
En: Eglė took a deep breath and approached Gediminas.
Lt: „Sveikas, Gediminai," - pradėjo ji, bandydama šypsotis.
En: "Hello, Gediminas," she began, trying to smile.
Lt: „Kaip tau sekasi šįmet?"
En: "How’s it going for you this year?"
Lt: Gediminas sunkiai atsiduso.
En: Gediminas sighed heavily.
Lt: „Dar vienas tų metų, ar ne? Turbūt nesikeičia niekas.
En: "Another one of those years, right? It seems nothing changes.
Lt: Kaip visada - nė vienu žodžiu niekas nepžvelgia, kai reikia."
En: As always, no one takes a word when needed."
Lt: Eglė jautė, kaip Gediminas sugadins nuotaiką, bet ji nusprendė neišskubėti.
En: Eglė felt that Gediminas might spoil the mood, but she decided not to rush.
Lt: „Tu visada darai daug, brolau.
En: "You always do a lot, brother.
Lt: Gal šiemet pabandykim tiesiog praleisti laiką drauge?"
En: Maybe this year we can just try to spend time together?"
Lt: Tuo metu atėjo Milda.
En: At that moment, Milda arrived.
Lt: Ji atrodė, kad kažkuria prasme jau čia nesąmoningai priklauso.
En: She seemed, in some way, to already belong there unconsciously.
Lt: „Kurgi Milda," - pasakė Gediminas sarkastiškai.
En: "Where’s Milda?" said Gediminas sarcastically.
Lt: „Kaip visada - vėluoji į savo paties šeimos tradiciją."
En: "As always, late to your own family tradition."
Lt: Milda susisiekė akis į akis su Egle, tarsi sakydama „aš nepaisau jų."
En: Milda locked eyes with Eglė, as if saying "I disregard them."
Lt: Tačiau Eglė žinojo, kad Milda neabejinga, tik išmokusį slėptis už ironijos.
En: However, Eglė knew that Milda wasn't indifferent, just learned to hide behind irony.
Lt: Eglė, norėdama išvengti dar didesnio konflikto, nusprendė, kad atskirą pokalbį su Mildą reikėjo padaryti ir jai pasakyti, kad būtų gera bent kartą paklusti taisyklėms šeimos labui.
En: Eglė, wanting to avoid further conflict, decided it was necessary to have a separate conversation with Milda and tell her that it would be nice to abide by the rules for the sake of the family, at least once.
