Fi: Kylmä syystuuli puhalsi, kun Eero ja Ilona astuivat autosta ulos vanhan kesämökin pihalla.
En: A cold autumn wind blew as Eero and Ilona stepped out of the car into the yard of the old summer cottage.
Fi: Lehdet rapistelivat heidän ympärillään, kun he kävelivät polkua pitkin kohti ovea.
En: Leaves rustled around them as they walked along the path towards the door.
Fi: Hiljaisuus oli painostava, mutta samalla rauhoittava.
En: The silence was oppressive, but at the same time calming.

En: "Ilona, why don't we ever talk?"

En: Ilona thought for a moment before answering.
Fi: "Minä luulin, että sinun oli mukavampi, kun emme puhuneet."
En: "I thought you felt more comfortable when we didn't talk."
Fi: Eero naurahti epäuskoisena.
En: Eero chuckled in disbelief.
Fi: "Ei, ei se ole niin.
En: "No, it's not like that.
Fi: Minä haluan puhua sinulle, mutta... tuntuu siltä, että sinä et halua."
En: I want to talk to you, but... it feels like you don't want to."
Fi: Ilona huokaisi syvään ja istui alas pöydän ääreen.
En: Ilona sighed deeply and sat down at the table.
Fi: "Mitä haluat tietää, Eero?"
En: "What do you want to know, Eero?"
Fi: Heidän keskustelunsa kulki syviä vesiä pitkin.
En: Their conversation traversed deep waters.
Fi: Vanhoja haavoja avattiin, ja jokainen sana oli kuin askel kohti jotain uutta.
En: Old wounds were opened, and every word was like a step towards something new.
