Pl: W samo południe, gdy słońce ledwo prześwitywało przez złociste liście drzew, Jacek spojrzał w lustro w przedpokoju.
En: At noon, when the sun barely shone through the golden leaves of the trees, Jacek looked in the mirror in the hallway.

Pl: Westchnął głośno.
En: He sighed loudly.

Pl: Wiedział, że muszą kupić coś specjalnego dla Ani.
En: He knew they needed to buy something special for Ania.

Pl: To był jej urodzinowy dzień, a on chciał, żeby była szczęśliwa.
En: It was her birthday, and he wanted her to be happy.

Pl: Może idealny tort sprawi, że choć na chwilę zapomną o kłopotach.
En: Maybe a perfect cake would make them forget their troubles, even if just for a moment.

Pl: "Wszyscy gotowi?"
En: "Is everyone ready?"

Pl: zapytał, podchodząc do kuchni, gdzie Ania właśnie kończyła sprzątać po śniadaniu.
En: he asked, approaching the kitchen where Ania was just finishing cleaning up after breakfast.

En: "Why a cake?

Pl: To nie zmieni naszych problemów," rzucił, chowając słuchawki do kieszeni.
En: It won't change our problems," he said, tucking his headphones into his pocket.

Pl: Ania podeszła do niego i położyła mu rękę na ramieniu.
En: Ania approached him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

Pl: "To tylko tort, Tomku.
En: "It's just a cake, Tomek.

Pl: Spróbuj, proszę.
En: Try, please.

Pl: Dla mnie," powiedziała cicho.
En: For me," she said softly.

Pl: Jacek zmarszczył brwi, ale skinął głową.
En: Jacek furrowed his brow but nodded.

Pl: "Chodźmy," powiedział, starając się nie stracić cierpliwości.
En: "Let's go," he said, trying not to lose patience.

Pl: W cukierni powitano ich zapachem świeżo upieczonych ciast.
En: In the bakery, they were greeted by the aroma of freshly baked cakes.

Pl: Kolorowe makaroniki i drożdżówki przyciągały oczy swoim blaskiem.
En: Colorful macarons and buns caught the eye with their shine.
