Episode Details

Supernatural Season 8, Episode 14, Trial and Error recap 🦴 The Winchesters move into the Men of Letters bunker, Kevin Tran survives on plain hot dogs, and Sam takes on the first trial to close the gates of Hell. Berly and LA are here for all of it.

Sam and Dean finally have a real home with a memory foam mattress, while Kevin is stuck on a houseboat. And the first trial? Kill a hellhound and bathe in its blood. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

Episode highlights:

• Kevin’s houseboat routine: no shower, no toothbrush, and wieners with zero condiments (be more specific, Dean)
• Dean nesting in the Men of Letters bunker with guns on the wall, his mom’s photo, and a memory foam mattress
• The Cassity family’s geologically impossible oil fortune (that’s C-A-S-S-I-T-Y, not D-Y)
• Carl the “trophy husband” goes from sweet teddy bear to F you, Carl in record time
• A family dinner 10 years ago with a charming traveling salesman named... Kenny?
• Ellie shoots her shot, plus the big debate: what would YOU do on your last night on earth?
• Goofer dust, the Clark Kent glasses, and semi-invisible hellhounds that actually deliver
• Blood splooge #67, followed by the goriest hellhound kill yet
• Sam’s thick, hairy forearms and the official start of the Winchester daddification era

The lore segment revisits hellhounds from No Rest for the Wicked. Meet Black Shuck, the devil dog that stormed two English churches in 1577 and left scorch marks on the church door that supposedly remain to this day. Plus the seven-foot dog skeleton unearthed at Leiston Abbey, and hellhounds from Cerberus to Anubis to the Grim.

“Between the claws, the teeth, and the invisibility, those bitches can be real bitches.” – Dean Winchester

Your turn, hunters: What would you do on your last night on earth? And Berly’s mom has a song that Ellie could dance to, but there’s no women’s version yet, so send your lyrics our way. Drop your answers in the Spotify comments, leave a rating or review on Apple Podcasts, or send fan mail.
