Now he's not actually that far off when he said the average concert ticket is $72 (Pollstar came out with a report in 2024 that the average was $83), but that's before we're talking fees, dynamic pricing and scalpers. Ticketmaster (who's in bed with Live Nation) let's scalpers “exceed” ticket-purchase limits and then letting those same scalpers resell those tickets at significant markups on Ticketmaster’s own resale platform. So, that $72 he speaks of gets lost in translation. Rapino is the CEO of Live Nation, you know this guy is out of touch with reality. For not being able to read the room, he needs to feel shame, shame, shame.
