Pick up your food mindfully. Notice its weight in your hand. If it's a piece of fruit, feel its smoothness or slight bumpy texture. If it's bread, sense its warmth. Bring it closer and inhale its aroma. What memories or feelings emerge with that scent?

When you take your first bite, do so slowly. Let the food rest on your tongue. What flavors unfold? Sweet, salty, bitter, umami? Notice how the texture changes as you chew. Listen to the subtle sounds of eating.

Eating becomes a meditation when we bring full awareness. You're not just consuming calories, but experiencing a moment of nourishment, of connection between your body and the earth that grew this food.

As you continue your day, try to carry this sense of presence into at least one meal. You don't need perfection - just curiosity and gentle attention.
