Description

Have you ever called upon the water element? Beyond quenching your thirst, water can clear away what no longer serves you, open the flow of intuition, or carry your dreams into being.

A Great Ally

Breathe Love & Magic podcastWater is one of our greatest allies, holding mystery, memory, and the power to transform everything it touches. When I spoke with Jenn T. Peterson, Equus Coach and Shaman Reiki Master Teacher, she reminded me that water isn’t just practical; it’s spiritual. “Our entire earth is water. Our bodies are about 80% water. So when you think about it, we are water,” she said.

That hit me. From the ocean that touches every continent flows in our cells to a mountain stream, or the rain falling from the sky, and even the glass of water on your desk. Each one is a part of water element, including you!

Water Is Life

Water covers more of the earth than land, and nothing survives without it. We drink it, cook with it, bathe in it. It’s influence runs deeper. Across cultures, water has always been sacred. Think of holy water for blessing, shamanic water for cleansing, and even modern research shows that water crystals respond to intention.

Jenn also connected water with emotions which are fluid, shifting constantly from calm to stormy in a moment. Emotions live in the body, moving like tides. That’s why dreams, intuition, and emotional healing all resonate with the water element.

Here’s a simple truth. Most people are often dehydrated. Without enough water, even moods and emotional balance suffer. Hydrating goes beyond physical self-care, because it impacts you emotional and spiritual well-being too.

Tears also remind us of water’s role in release. Crying is the body’s way of cleansing. Instead of resisting tears, we can honor them as sacred.

Work with the Water Element

Talking about water is inspiring—but the real magic is in practice. When you bring intention to everyday interactions with water, the ordinary becomes sacred. Jenn explained some beautiful rituals, and I’ve added a few of my own. Use what resonates and adapt the rest. Water is generous like that—it doesn’t demand perfection.

1.Water Whispering

This is one of Jenn’s favorite practices, and once you try it, you’ll understand why. Take three containers of water in glass or metal which works best since they hold frequency. Whisper into the first container something you want to release. Into the second, whisper an intention for your own healing or growth. Into the third, whisper a prayer for the earth.

Your voice is vibration, and water records that frequency. If you’ve whispered an intention, drink the water so your body, which is 80% water, carries the message. If you’ve whispered a release, pour it into the ground and let the earth transmute it. For planetary healing, return it to the land, a plant, or even the sink with gratitude.
