From Obama to McCain, Ginsburg to Pelosi, history shows that public figures are routinely mocked in death without triggering mass firings or federal investigations—yet today, teachers are losing jobs, comedians are self-censoring, and Americans are being punished for expressing discomfort, satire, or dissent. Free speech is not absolute—incitement to violence and panic are real limits—but disagreement with the dead, even when emotionally charged, is not a crime. Every leader will die, and the public will respond with grief, rage, humor, and critique—that is not chaos, that is democracy. Like Carlson, more Republicans, Democrats, and everyday Americans must resist this authoritarian drift by affirming that disagreement is not a sin, rejecting government control over emotional legitimacy, and defending the right to speak without career retaliation.
