在英语中，预制菜通常被称为“pre-made meals”、“ready-made meals”或“frozen meals”。A lot of people have been talking about pre-made meals. Some say they’re too expensive, the portions (分量) are small, or they don’t taste fresh (吃起来不新鲜).

Pre-made meals: pre-提前；made-做好的，提前做好的饭，即预制菜

Ready-made meals: 即食餐，指已经做好了的加热就能吃的饭，一般英式英语更常见

Frozen meals: 冷冻餐，微波炉加热就能吃的饭

在美国，预制菜的种类十分丰富：

1) Frozen pizza: 冷冻披萨

2) Microwave dinner: 在微波炉加热就能吃的晚餐
