Glenn Sweitzer, designer and filmmaker, is our guest today. Glenn's fascinating back story takes in working with Disney, designing artwork for Tim McGraw and others, then telling stories through film, before ending up on the Appalachian Trail, discovering and sharing stories along the way.
Glenn is a natural raconteur with an eye for detail, and has produced an award-winning Appalachian Trail movie, Trail Mix, that is very evocative of my time out on trail, so there should be plenty for you all to enjoy as he hikes the trail and meets other storytellers along the way. Check out the trailer to Trail Mix here. Local Folk: Trail Mix - Finding Yourself on the Appalachian Trail
Glenn has recognized the healing properties of trail hiking and has formed a 501c3 called the Trail Please Foundation, see that clip here. Trails Please
Beth and Andrew are within spitting distance of Katahdin, well into the 100 Mile Wilderness, where they met a previous Might Blue Class of member, Bobby Campbell, or Sloggy. Here they are together.
I used my hike last year on the South West Coast Path in the UK to help raise money for my absolute favorite charity, Parenting Matters, on whose board I've been privileged to serve for over a decade. You can learn more about the hike and the organization–and donate–by visiting Hike with Steve - Empowering Parents, One Step at a Time | Parenting Matters %. I hope you want to support this critical mission.
Don't forget. Our entire series of videos from our Woods Hole Weekend in 2022 is now FREE and available at my YouTube page at Woods Hole Weekend - Trailer There, you'll find all sorts of tips and tricks that our guests took away from the weekend that helped them with their own hikes this year. Check it out.
